Chips & Plaques of The World - Part 11

(11) DIE-CAST MOLDED OF ONE OR TWO COLORS:

These plaques are molded where the lettering, numerals and designs are embossed;

This type of construction was one of the first types used in European casinos when plastic-type mareial first started to be used. Chips were as small as 20mm in diameter and as large as 60mm. It was also common for plaques to be as large as 100x150mm. This type of gaming piece is in small scale production today, and the older and larger plaques are quite rare.

The bi-color pieces are produced while the plastic is still in its molten stage....and when cured, the pieces look as though they were dipped in paint.
